Would you mind if I walked with you awhile.

Crossroads are the strangest places I’ve known.

Weary souls meeting while trying to make it home.

Company to keep as we cross the desolate miles.

Time seems forgotten as the journey goes on.

Laughter fills the void of hollow sorrow.

Looking forward, at last, to another tomorrow.

While in my heart, I know, here is not where I belong.

Days speed by faster than the mind can comprehend.

The landscape becomes barren, conversation fades.

Unspoken truths as final as nightshade.

Paths intermingle but for a moment, separate in the end.

Sunsets one more time, alone again in harsh exile.
